Today we went up to Primary Children's for Justin's hematology appointment. His ANC was 0.4. The doctor's are going to have us continue with weekly blood draws and come up again in 2 months. They are leaning towards the diagnosis of Benign Neutropenia of Childhood. (For the record, I diagnosed him myself with this about 3 months ago :) They are still not 100% sure, but it is currently the only conclusion that makes any sense. This is actually best case scenario (knock on wood!) If it is BNC then he should grow out of it sometime in the next few years.

Lindsay--I just read through your posts for the last month or so and am thrilled that the HIV test was negative and that J has been healthy despite his levels. I liked your comment about your ultra-sanitized home...soemtimes you just have to get a little crazy in order to keep the kiddos healthy. I hope that J is diagnosed with the BNC...good job Dr. Goekeritz in your diagnosis! Take care and we always are thinking of your family!
